Dissonance

I'm so bored. In a gap between lectures...the caffeine will kick in soon.

How can I find the topic (New Testament) so fascinating, but find it so difficult to focus during lectures? I'm reading NT Wright's The New Testament and the People of God which deals with similar issues -- I'm even reading Gadamer -- and enjoy it, but I find it so hard to get through these lectures!

Sometimes it seems far too easy, but then I got a B+ on my last assignment. Perfectionist that I am, I want A's. At least.

I'm seeing some of my annoying habits appear. Gotta beat that passive aggression. I have to get an A+ on my next assignment and exam now...sounds like hard work. I'd better go!

REDEMPTION

The rest of my morning improved. A very interesting and informative lecture on the Passion Narratives (the bits where Jesus dies) and a coffee and good talk with Leilani (sorry about the spelling!), a fellow student.

Now I'm having lunch then heading off to the library for another chunk of NT Wright.
