John 3:16
Thinking about the divinity of Christ. Came across this excellent point,
Another striking verse is John 3:16.He argues that if Christ isn't ontologically the same as God then we have serious trouble interpreting such verses.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
If Jesus were merely a shaliach of God (a created being whom God commissioned to act on his behalf), this verse would in effect be saying:
For God so loved the world, that he stayed in his cosy, comfortable heaven and sent someone else to suffer, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

For me, it's been helpful to learn that titles such as 'messiah' and 'son of god' don't neccessarily imply divinity for those that use them. I'm sticking with a divine Christ at present, although my meditations have centred on an incarnational Christ.

Interesting. What are the differentiators / characteristics of an incarnational Christ?

Good question. I'll try to answer after New Years.
