Reformatting
I've finally found a task that's just as frustrating on a Mac as it is in Windows: reformatting the entire hard-drive. I spent the weekend doing that and it was just as time-consuming.
In the process I discovered I have around 1500 uncatalogued songs in my itunes folders. That's a lot of filing!
For those with slow macs, try the links provded by Mike. I've found them helpful.
