Using video on blogger
I decided I wanted to use video to enhance my travel blog. I immediately faced some problems, especially the lack of a decent video camera. I figured if I started using the (crappy) movie option on my point and shoot I could build up to buying a decent one.
Next was the proplem of hosting. Space is money. After googling and requesting help -- after a week-long flurry of comments, emails and IM -- I have a strategy for adding video-posts to our travel blog.
For the few that care, here is my plan.
1) Edit the movie and export identical copies to a lo-res and hi-res .mov file. I use iMovie HD to do this.I hope this helps someone. If it does please add a link. Cheers.
2) Upload the lo-res to my host.
3) Embed this in the post giving instant gratification.
4) Upload the hi-res to google video. It takes around a week to be verified.
5) Swap the .mov for the google video and add a link to the google site for people to download, etc.
6) Delete the lo-res .mov from my host, thereby saving space/money.
