Water

Water, my favourite element, is fluid, beautiful and mysterious.

The play of light and water has always captured my attention and imagination. As the sun and ocean play diamonds of inestimable value are created on the water's surface only to disappear as quickly as they are formed. Sparkling, dancing they draw our gaze to something we can enter and experience, but never understand. Water reminds me of God's creativeness and untouchable mystery.

I'm also terrified of shark-attacks.

Mystery, creativity and the possibility of danger is an interesting combination.

I grew up near the beach and developed a love of watching water. There's something amazing about the ebb and flow that captures my attention. It's the easist way for me to begin meditating or thinking through issues.

I find my inability to express 'water' in writing frustrating, but perhaps that's the attraction. Even a poet of great acclaim can't capture such a particular phenomenon, let alone me.
