Can't sleep, up reading. I came across this quote from this blog. He mentions Drane, who wrote my Uni textbooks.
So if the Church is to do some serious ‘re-imagining’, it also needs to do some serious biblical textual work and hermeneutics in order to keep the whole enterprise in step with itself.I have to agree...from my biased position. If we can't interpret our situation from our tradition's texts we are in serious trouble; if we can't interpret the texts well from our situation we are also in the deep brown.
