I drink for religious reasons

Many people I know profess to abstaining from alcohol for religious reasons. I was wondering what would happen if such a one asked me if I drank...

"Yes," I could reply, "I drink for religious reasons. My mentor is known as a drunk and a glutton and, as a Christian, I intend to follow his example. In fact, he instructed me to remember him over a wine glass."

I'm not planning on becoming indigent anytime soon, but Jesus probably was.

Sometimes I wonder if Christians know who they're meant to be following.

P.S. For those who are wondering, this is called hyperbole and smacks of cynicism too.
